1. Choose a program and read its official admission page – requirements differ per university and program.
2. Check whether your school or university certificate is recognised (anabin database) and whether a Studienkolleg preparation year is needed.
3. Check the language requirement (German: e.g. TestDaF/DSH; English: e.g. IELTS/TOEFL) for the specific program.
4. Find out whether the university uses uni-assist or direct application, and note the official deadlines.
5. Submit your documents (certified copies/translations where required).
6. After admission: health insurance, proof of financing (e.g. blocked account) and the student visa if required.
7. Enrol, pay the semester contribution and register your address.
